Hardness Tester Hardness test is one way to determine the strength or resistance of a material (material). Meanwhile, hardness itself (hardness) is one of the mechanical properties of a material besides its physical and technological properties. From various references, there are 4 formulas for hardness testing, namely: (1) Brinnel (HB / BHN), (2) Rockwell (HR / RHN), (3) Vikers (HV / VHN) and (4) Micro Hardness (hardness knob) . Hard test is the most effective test because it can easily describe the mechanical properties of a material. Although measurements are only made at one particular point or area. The hardness value it displays is valid enough to indicate the strength of a material. Thus, the material can easily be classified as ductile or ductile.

Hardness tester or often called hard test can also be used as a method to determine the effect of heat treatment and cold treatment on the material. Materials that have undergone cold working, hot working, and heat treatment can describe their change in strength by measuring the surface hardness of a material. Therefore, with rigorous testing we can easily control the quality of the material.
